‘3FM is playing a bit of murdered innocence now’ | Culture

The DJ looks back on his time at the station with ‘great pleasure’. “And I’m definitely going to listen to 3FM. My colleagues and friends are also there. I had a lot of fun there. But sometimes you have to move on. I don’t think that’s a bad thing either, it’s part of it,” he explains. “3FM is playing a bit of murdered innocence now. But in the end they took us off those programs. Then you can’t expect everyone to stay.”

Reportedly, 3FM was ‘not amused’ because of the decision of the DJs. “If you leave somewhere, or if a relationship ends, it never goes without a fight. It’s something that’s annoying,” explains Hoogendoorn.

After 3FM decided to transfer the DJ to another time slot, Hoogendoorn felt as if he had two options. “One was staying at that time. But the other offer also insisted.” By this he is referring to the offer of Radio Veronica, which was beginning to acquire ‘more colour’ and which he nevertheless ‘became more and more interested’. In the end he decided to switch to Radio Veronica.

Fresh energy

That decision was therefore independent of Van der Lende’s transfer. “It was initiated separately for both of us. I just really made this choice for myself.” Van der Lende is a good friend of his, he continues, „We’ll talk. Then came the story that Frank was out too. But it wasn’t like: you don’t do this, then I don’t do it either. We decided separately.”

Frank van der Lende states that he and NPO 3FM have grown apart in the last six months. “Just a relationship.” The DJ says he had ‘a fantastic time’ with his ‘great love’ 3FM. “I look back very positively on everything I was able to do there. I leave with a very good feeling and with a lot of fresh energy to Veronica!”

Unfortunately

Channel manager Menno de Boer of NPO 3FM told the ANP on Tuesday that he was ‘pity’ that the DJs are going to leave the station. “The new programming has been developed in careful consultation with broadcasters and presenters. Despite their previous promises, Sander and Frank now choose a different path. That is a pity, but the focus at NPO 3FM remains forward.”

Until recently, the two DJs made the morning and afternoon show respectively for 3FM. According to the new programming that the channel recently published, Hoogendoorn would make a program for BNNVARA from 12 September in the afternoon from 13.00 to 16.00. Van der Lende would be heard on the public channel on behalf of the same broadcaster in the early evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. From the beginning of October, both DJs, each with their own program, can be heard on Radio Veronica. Hoogendoorn every Monday to Thursday in the early evening and Van der Lende on Friday evening.
