The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) and the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) have now approved the merger between Stichting GGZ Momentum and Vincent van Gogh. The deed was officially passed on Wednesday March 30, making the merger a fact.
A number of formal steps have been taken in the past period, but 28 March was a special day for all concerned. Momentum employees were received in the Vinegar Factory in Den Bosch by the board of VIGO and the management of Vincent van Gogh. They have been updated on the state of affairs and, above all, welcomed. There was room for mutual acquaintance and asking questions, which resulted in great conversations. After a turbulent period, VIGO/Vincent van Gogh wants to bring peace to Momentum’s employees, so that their energy can continue to be devoted to providing the right patient care.
With the administrative merger between the two mental health institutions, continuity for patients and staff of Momentum is guaranteed. Momentum will continue to provide care for people with mental health problems in the usual way, from its existing locations.
Jolande Tijhuis, chairman of VIGO’s Executive Board, looks to the future with confidence. “The merger with Momentum is additional for VIGO, both in terms of care provision and the region where care is provided. We can learn from and with each other. In the coming period, we will provide optimal support for care from the synergy with VIGO, so that Momentum employees can continue to provide patients with the right care.”
